Out Leadership, a global LGBT+ business organization, today announced that Lee Schreter, a shareholder and chairperson of the Board of Directors of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has joined its Global Advisory Board.
Schreter has long been an advocate for the LGBT+ community and has been active in Littler’s continued efforts to create a diverse and inclusive working environment. As a former member of Littler’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and prior co-chair of the firm’s LGBTQ Affinity Group, Pride, Schreter has demonstrated a strong commitment to building gender, racial, and sexual diversity in business. Littler is consistently recognized for its diversity efforts and was recently awarded the inaugural national Sager Award by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association for its Career Advocacy Program (CAP), of which Schreter is an active member. The CAP pairs high-performing associates, who are visible minorities or self-identify as LGBT+ or disabled, with some of the firm’s most influential leaders for mentorship and guidance.
Schreter has led Littler’s relationship with Out Leadership since the firm joined Out in Law in 2014. She was also an early supporter of OutWOMEN, Out Leadership’s initiative to convene and champion LGBT+ women in business. As a member of Out Leadership’s Global Advisory Board, her responsibilities will include involvement with OL-iQ, a new diagnostic tool that businesses can use to assess LGBT+ inclusion, as well as identify ways to build on it to create business opportunities.
“I am excited to be a part of Out Leadership’s Global Advisory Board and to assist in expanding the organization’s impactful work, both in the United State and around the world,” said Schreter. “Now more than ever, businesses are focused on increasing inclusion efforts to drive value – what is called Return on Equality™ – and Out Leadership is at the forefront of that movement.”
Out Leadership Founder and Principal Todd Sears said, “Lee is the true definition of an Out Leader, and has been an important voice in our movement for over 30 years. We have often turned to her for advice, even before she honored us by deciding to join our Global Advisory Board. Out Leadership is grateful for her counsel and look forward to building new solutions with her in our corner.”
