The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation partnered with the Gill Foundation to produce a research report demonstrating the benefits of LGBT+-inclusive policies on a company’s employees and borrow line, and outlining best practices for LGBT+ inclusion. The report was informed by 70 corporate respondents to surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
The report found that LGBT+ inclusive companies enjoy higher employee retention rates and revenue. 41% of LGBT+ employees reported that they had left a job as a result of feeling bullied for their sexual orientation or gender identity.
The report aims not only to bolster existing studies on the benefits of LGBT+ inclusion, but to provide guidelines for companies who wish to take advantage of the benefits by implementing inclusive policy.
