Out Leadership today announced that Kathleen Sebelius has joined its Global Advisory Board.
Sebelius served as the 21st Secretary of Health and Human Services, and was previously the Governor of Kansas.
On the occasion of her appointment, Sebelius has penned an op-ed detailing her commitment to working with American business to extend non-discrimination protections to LGBT people nationwide, either through the adoption of the Equality Act by Congress or through state-based action.
“I’m excited to partner with Out Leadership on its important work,” said Sebelius. “Throughout my career in public service, I have seen the tremendous positive impact that the united voice of the business community can have on policy, and in the lives of American citizens. Out Leadership’s deep engagement with many of the world’s most innovative companies uniquely situates it to further the campaign to ensure that all LGBT Americans are protected from discrimination at work, in housing, and in services.”
