“LGBT equality is not only a civil rights issue; it is also a business issue. To be successful, we must attract, retain and promote from the broadest pool of talent available. We are proud to partner with Out Leadership and its member companies to promote LGBT equality”
Out Leadership launched our first initiative, Out on the Street, in 2011, with 6 founding members. As of 2015, we now count 66 member firms and operate 5 global initiatives focused on improving business and talent performance. We are deeply engaged with C-suite and other senior business executives who are committed to the business case for LGBT+ inclusion.
Firms who join Out Leadership are immediately connected to our network of senior business leaders who work within top firms to create business opportunity, cultivate talent, and drive LGBT+ equality forward.
Our model is partnership, not sponsorship, and we work closely with every member firm to customize their engagement. Member firms have exclusive access to our industry-leading global Summits, held annually in New York, Hong Kong and London, as well as opportunities to present to them. They also have exclusive access to our proprietary insights and leadership curriculum.
Out Leadership operates two industry-specific initiatives: Out on the Street and Out in Law. Each initiative operates on a grass-roots partnership model – for the industry, by the industry – while also benefiting from the cross-industry insights and networking opportunities provided by Out Leadership’s centralized approach. Members of our Business Initiatives also engage exclusively with our Talent Initiatives.
“Our research shows shift in market share towards companies with more diverse executive teams and boards – and we would expect LBGT talent to be an important part of that diversity.”
Out Leadership operates two cross-industry talent initiatives for LGBT+ leaders: OutNEXT and Quorum.
OutNEXT engages with high-potential, high-performing LGBT leaders across industries to inspire and activate them to the next level of their careers.
Quorum seeks to increase the representation of LGBT people on corporate boards, and engages with very senior LGBT executives who are potential candidates for board placement.
Out Leadership is a certified B Corp, dedicated to driving LGBT+ equality forward worldwide. Our social mission is at the root of everything that we do, and we work in close partnership with other institutions in the LGBT+ community to create change, including the Human Rights Campaign, Stonewall UK, and the Global Equality Fund, part of The US Department of State.
Beyond our offices, our team is passionately dedicated to furthering the cause of LGBT+ civil rights. Out Leadership team members serve on the boards of key institutions including Lambda Legal, the Williams Institute of the UCLA School of Law, and Athlete Ally. In addition to supporting those institutions financially and logistically, we’re also a corporate contributor to a number of community non-profits around the world including GMHC, the LGBT+ Center of NYC, and GLSEN.
