Chris Johnson is chief political and White House reporter for the Washington Blade, which is the nation’s oldest LGBTQ newspaper and celebrated its 50th-anniversary last year. Chris has worked for 12 years throughout the Obama and Trump administrations covering the federal government for the LGBTQ community. In 2018, Chris won honorable mention for the Merriman Smith Memorial Award for being first to report President Trump had fired all members of his AIDS advisory council. A native of Lansing, Mich., Chris obtained his B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he graduated in 2003.
