New Jersey has passed a law requiring public schools to incorporate LGBT+ history into the curriculum, including political, economic and social contributions of the LGBT+ community. New Jersey will be the second state after California to implement such a law.
Governor Phil Murphy praised the law as a step towards inclusion and fairness.
The legislation feels particularly relevant as the Second Lady, Karen Pence comes under fire for her decision to teach at a private Christian school that forbids support for LGBT+ rights.
