FCB parts ways with Nivea after alleged homophobic comment

Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) parted with their client Nivea, the skincare brand, after a Nivea representative allegedly made a homophobic comment during a call, AdAge reports. An internal memo sent to employees at FCB announced that the companies’ long creative partnership would end later this year.

When FCB’s creative team suggested an advertisement featuring two men holding hands, a member of the client team replied that “we don’t do gay at Nivea,” according to AdAge. Companies that are now part of the FCB network have worked with Nivea for more than 100 years.
