Todd Sears, Founder and CEO of Out Leadership, said: “Beth is a courageous and accomplished leader who has made an enormous positive impact on improving diversity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people in global business. As a friend and colleague I am thrilled for her election to this prestigious position and excited that Out Leadership and specifically our Quorum LGBTQ+ Board Diversity initiative are helping lead the way for the inclusion of more LGBTQ+ people to corporate boards.”
Out Leadership’s Quorum is a first-of-its-kind global board diversity initiative, focused on preparing LGBTQ+ leaders for board placement and working to further diversity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people on boards through advocacy and education. The Quorum initiative is supported by founding sponsor KPMG, as well as sponsors, Egon Zehnder, Goldman Sachs, Diligent and Ropes & Gray.
According to our research just 0.2% of all Fortune 500 Corporate Board seats (25 seats out of 5670) are occupied by an openly LGBTQ+ person. Ms. Brooke joins a very small cohort of out LGBTQ+ leaders serving on corporate boards in the U.S. Her election represents a positive step toward the goal of realizing improved LGBTQ+ representation in corporate boardrooms.
