Todd Sears, CEO of Out Leadership, discussed the ways corporations can continue to advocate for LGBT+ rights after Pride month ends in Fortune Magazine. Sears says that corporations can engage in everyday advocacy, beyond surface level changes such as rainbow logos, while still meeting their bottom line. While corporations themselves do not always extend beyond this superficial advocacy, Sears highlights the employees within these companies who seek to change the environment both within and beyond the corporation itself.
In some cases, CEOs can use their incomparable power and influence to affect change even when governments cannot. This means corporations and the people who run them can be the greatest proponents of political change.
