Out Leadership introduced by Macklemore on Logo’s Trailblazer Honors

Out Leadership partnered with Logo to help identify LGBT business leaders for the channels’ Trailblazer Honors, which aired on Saturday at 8 PM on Logo and VH1. Out Leadership was introduced during the broadcast by Grammy-winning recording artist Macklemore.

“Openly LGBT and Ally executives are true trailblazers, working within their businesses and in the countries where they operate to create inclusion,” said Todd Sears. “Business has consistently been a leader when it comes to LGBT equality – often ahead of politics and even popular culture. We are proud to partner with Logo to increase the visibility of these great leaders.”

The Awards featured 4 Out Leaders who have made extraordinary impacts both at work and in the work for LGBT equality:

  • Beth Brooke-Marciniak, Vice Chair of Public Policy at EY and a member of Out Leadership’s Global Advisory Board
  • Lanaya Irvin of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, who helped organize the business community’s support of the marriage equality Amicus brief
  • Alaina Kupec of Pfizer, a transwoman resident of North Carolina who has been a vocal opponent of HB2
  • Jonathan Mildenhall , Chief Marketing Officer at Airbnb

This year’s Trailblazer Awards honorees include Billie Jean King, Harvey Fierstein, gay Syrian refugee Subhi Nahas, transgender trailblazers Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, as well as seminal LGBT media outlet The Advocate. Grammy Award-nominee Mary Lambert and multi-platinum selling pop star Rachel Platten pay tribute to the innocent lives lost in the tragic shooting at the Pulse LGBT nightclub.
