The Stanford Graduate School of Business has announced that it will begin offering a leadership program aimed at LGBT leaders this July. The program, which is the first of its kind at the university level, aims to teach Out executives to be more competitive for C-suite positions as their careers progress.
Dr. Thomas Wurster, the co-director of the program and former senior partner at Boston Consulting Group, told The Wall Street Journal, “We’re at an inflection point. Companies are moving quickly to build out diversity in their leadership teams, but we’ve seen relatively few senior executives who are LGBT and out.”
The program is aimed at midcareer professionals who identify as LGBT. Companies can nominate employees to apply for a spot in the program, and individuals are free submit their own applications, as well.
