Salzburg Global LGBT Forum held in Thailand, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program

The four-day Salzburg Global LGBT Forum was held in Chiang Rai, Thailand last week, focusing on on “The Many Faces of LGBT Inclusion.”

Representatives from over 60 countries discussed topics including family issues, strengthening international ties with government ministries and agencies, and transgender Asian perspectives. The talks focused on professional experiences and personal stories; participants included activists, refuges, and public officials

The UNDP has been working to promote LGBT+ activism in the Asia Pacific region. The forum hoped to bring Asian voices into the LGBT+ rights discussion, which has typically been dominated by the West.
