Atlanta’s Gay Chamber of Commerce will host summit on the Rise of the Rainbow Economy

The Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (AGLCC) will host its first summit, Rise of the Rainbow Economy, as a way of bringing together the regional Atlanta LGBT+ business owners to discuss the health of the regional economy and the social and economic responsibility they have for their hometown.

The event was spurred when AGLCC president Daniel Dunlop realized that despite a thriving LGBT+ business landscape, only a handful of owners were registered as LGBT Business Enterprises (LGBTBE), a national designation that allows businesses to compete for corporate contracts which could bring their business to new heights.

Atlanta currently has the fifth-most number of LGBTBEs in the nation, with 44 registered, a figure Dunlop hopes to double in the next few years.
