Brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev NV has released a new ad, embedded above, for its Bud Light brand centered around a same-sex wedding. It is the first time the group has aired an advertisement for Bud Light, which constitutes 20% of the beer market in the United States, that is specifically inclusive of the LGBT community.
The ad, which features comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen, ends with Rogen stating, “Bud Light proudly supports everyone’s right to marry whoever they want.” To mark pride month the brand will also advertise with rainbow-lit billboards in California and New York.
The ad is designed to appeal to younger consumers, who are “far more supportive of LGBT rights,” than other generations. A recent survey from the Pew Research Center revealed that 70% of millennials support same-sex marriage. According to experts, the commercial also signals AB InBev’s commitment to inclusivity, and will likely appeal to other diverse groups.
