The workplace is a microcosm for society as a whole. Although we have progress to celebrate, discrimination is still stunting success for all LGBTQ+ talent. When leaders make informed and thoughtful change, we see and feel the impact.
As the Director, Research & Partnerships at Out Leadership, I am delighted to introduce our Research Roundup, a monthly digest of global research on the LGTBQ+ community from Out Leadership and our global partners.
Like all our research and business reports, the Research Roundup focuses on providing practical action steps that business leaders can take as individuals in their communities and companies and what steps companies can take to advance LGBTQ+ equality.
Why are we doing this?
We created the Research Roundup as a resource to support our member companies in their work. In the past year, we observed several themes in our members’ questions for help. This monthly digest is intended to be wide-ranging and will cover commonly asked topics, ranging from trans/nonbinary inclusion to LGBTQ+ family benefits to workplace discrimination.
What can you expect to see?
We modeled the Research Roundup on our successful Business Leader’s Guide to Trans Equality published in June 2021. Each monthly edition will include 5-7 pages of the most up-to-date data and research paired with concrete guidance on what you can do to effect change in your community and organization.
This month’s edition focuses on the reality of workplace discrimination for LGBTQ+ individuals and how that impacts LGBTQ+ and Ally talent retention. We also cover the profound impact of compounded intersectional identities on an individual’s workplace experience.
We are making the first edition available to our broader community of supporters. We hope you enjoy it. If you want to know more about how we support our members or are interested in becoming an Out Leadership member company, email email@example.com, and we will be in touch.
