About Mathew Shurka: Mathew Shurka is an advocate for ending conversion therapy and strategist for the #BornPerfect Campaign. Driven to prevent others from being subjected to the therapeutic abuse he received, he posted his personal story on YouTube in 2012. As a result, organizations nationwide sought Shurka’s support to protect LGBTQ youth. His work has passed legislation in twelve states and more than 35 municipalities, including Washington DC. Additionally, he has introduced federal legislation, created new policy for medical and corporate organizations, and consulted for film and media companies, all to further educate and help create inclusion for all people.
