On July 16th, OutLeadership is moderating the latest episode of Global Pulse on Equality: India hosted by Nomura. Guests will include LGBTQ public figures such as Keshav Suri, Godrej India Culture Lab in Mumbai and Senior Ted Fellow Parmesh Shahani and KPMG head of diversity for India Zainab Patel. Same sex relationships were decriminalized in September 2018. We will talk about how to tackle hearts in minds in a context where a 21-year-old student was found dead in Goa after allegedly being forced into conversion therapy for months, the role of the private sector and the importance of discussing homophobia and transphobia in the family.

Parmesh Shahani – Head of the Godrej India Culture Lab and author of Queeristan and Gay Bombay
Parmesh is a writer, vice president at Godrej Industries Ltd. and founder of the award winning Godrej India Culture Lab. He has been a TED Senior Fellow, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a Yale World Fellow. His new book, Queeristan: LGBTQ Inclusion in Corporate India will be out in September 2020, and his first book Gay Bombay: Globalization, Love and (Be)Longing in Contemporary India, was released in 2008 and re-published in 2020 as an updated edition.
Zainab Patel – Diversity & Inclusion Lead, KPMG India
Keshav Suri – Executive Director at the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group,
Keshav Suri is the youngest Executive Director at The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. Involved in developing strategies for expansion at The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, he specifically spearheads the chain’s Operation, Food & Beverage, Quality Management, and Marketing divisions. He has been instrumental in effectively fulfilling various unique F&B initiatives and ideas across the Group. His brainchild, ‘Kitty Su,’ completed seven successful years in August 2018. It has been awarded ‘Best Night Club in India’ of the year by INCA and ‘Best Night Club’ by Times Food and Nightlife Awards. Keshav also created The Lalit Food Truck Company, the hotel’s outdoor catering vertical which now has four food trucks, including a pizza truck.
