Taiwan holds Asia’s largest gay pride parade

Taiwan’s gay pride parade filled the streets of Taipei this week. The parade renewed calls for same-sex marriage from the new Taiwanese government, with many who marched hopeful a bill will be passed before the end of 2017.

The new controlling party, the Democratic Progressive Party, and their new President Tsai Ing-wen, openly support marriage equality and LGBT+ rights. President Tsai Ing-wen pledged to support the bill if it were brought to parliament.
