Over 5,000 Texas businesses come out against ‘Bathroom Bills’

Directly opposing Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick’s plan to fast track legislation restricting transgender bathroom access, the Texas Association of Business (TAB) has passed a resolution that opposes any legislation that “would impact workforce recruitment and/or cause a negative economic impact on the state.”

TAB points to fallout from North Carolina’s HB2, which has cost the state an estimated $395 million and a possible $2.21 trillion in investments, as the main motivating factor for the resolution.

The Texas Association of Business has 4,300 member companies, which voted overwhelmingly to approve the measure. In addition to TAB, Texas Competes, a coalition of more than 1,000 employers, have also pledged to support LGBT+ inclusion.
