Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina on Friday voiced support for so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Acts (RFRAs), noting her longstanding support of the controversial RFRA that made news in Indiana earlier this year.
Speaking at the Presidential Family Forum in Iowa, Fiorina reminded the audience of how she defended the Indiana legislation, “and castigated some of my fellow technology CEOs who had the arrogance to say that they were going to boycott selling their products in Indiana.”
Indiana’s RFRA law contained broad language that many interpreted as sanctioning discrimination against members of the LGBT community. Following its passage major conventions threatened to withdraw from planned Indiana conferences and companies like Salesforce and Angie’s List halted proposed expansions in the state.
