Out Leadership partner organization Open for Business has released a new report assessing more than 60 global cities based on LGBT+ inclusivity and competitiveness.
The report argues that cities which take steps to become more inclusive of LGBT+ people are more globally competitive, more innovative, and perform better on quality of life measurements.
Open for Business’s ratings schema, similar to those used by credit ratings agencies, ranges from cities “fully open for business” (tiers AAA to A) to cities where LGBT+ people face political, social or personal risks due to lack of openness (tiers DDD to E).
New York City was the highest-scoring city in the model.
